Grandpa had just been diagnosed with his cancer around the superbowl this year. So we decided to grab some alcohol, steal the furniture from the waiting room, and have a party in his hospital room. Grandpa had some wine, and even took a couple pictures with the football. His brother Cyril called to make a bet on the game. Grandpa bet 5 bucks on the underdog Giants, and won. Throughout the remainder of his days, Grandpa would periodically remind Cyril over the phone of the 5 bucks owed to him. Near the end, Grandpa was confined to a bed and had very little voice left. At this point the doctor had confirmed that the time was coming, and we all got a little more tense. Cyril called midway through the week to check in and spoke to Grandpas son Dave. Grandpa realized who was on the phone, and with the little energy he had, lifted his hand and spread out his fingers.... "Uncle Cyril, Dad says you owe him 5 bucks".
